Dong-Pil Min received his Ph.D. and Docteur d’Etat es Science (Doctor of Science) in Theoretical Physics from the University of Paris in 1976 and 1980, respectively. He is a professor Emeritus of Seoul National University where he has been a professor of physics for 1980-2009. Dong-Pil Min received his Ph.D. and Docteur d’Etat es Science (Doctor of Science) in Theoretical Physics from the University of Paris in 1976 and 1980, respectively. He is a professor Emeritus of Seoul National University where he has been a professor of physics for 1980-2009. He was the executive chairman of the Korea Research Council of Fundamental Science and Technology for 2008-2011, which includes 13 national research institutions, having about 5,000 PhDs. He served as the science advisor to the presidential candidate Lee Myung Bak in 2007, who was elected. He led the “Science and Business Belt Task Force” of the 17th Presidential Transition committee to establish a national project 'International Science Business Belt' in which the establishment plan of Institute of Basic Science and Korea Rare Isotope Accelerator was set up. Min previously held several leadership positions including vice president of Koran Physical Society, Director of the Information Center for Basic Science Research of Seoul National University, Chair of National Information Research Center Council and Director General of Korea Research Foundation. He is a founding member of Seoul S&T Forum, Milky Way Forum of Research Town where Science-Meets-Arts, and 21st Century Da Vinci Society.
